The problem

A ductile iron feeder main had no cathodic protection and two recent breaks.

It could not be taken out of service for more than a few hours at a time.

Our approach

  1. 01

    Survey

Soil resistivity and pipe-to-soil readings along the alignment.

  2. 02

    Design

22 anode locations sized for a 25-year life.

  3. 03

    Install

Keyhole excavations, anodes and test stations installed under live flow.

  4. 04

    Commission

Readings taken at every test station after 30 days.
